As I’m sure everyone is well aware, baseball season is just around the corner. Last season was Blake Street Bulletin’s inaugural season and we couldn’t be more pleased with how it went. Well, it would’ve been better if the Rox hadn’t finished 16 games under .500, but working with ESPN and the SweetSpot was a pleasure.
This year, Travis and I are counting on an even better year, both traffic wise for us and for the Rockies. Obviously, we have no control over the Rox, so our focus is on BSB. To help us carry some weight, we are looking to add some new talent.
If you want to make a bunch of money writing about baseball, join the club. We can’t offer that, at least for now. However, what we can offer is some great exposure and an opportunity to have your work linked up on ESPN’s SweetSpot. Additionally, there may be some opportunity to write for the SweetSpot itself on the weekends.
Travis and I both write for this site as a hobby. We have other careers, but writing about baseball is just something we enjoy doing. If you fit that mold — passionate and knowledgeable baseball fan with the ability to occasionally piece together a coherent sentence — this would be a great fit. But, this is also a nice opportunity for fledgling journalists and writers that are looking to get their name out there.
If interested please send a cover letter and writing sample to laburdine@gmail.com before Friday at noon. If you have some links to your work, that would be great too. Also, it never hurts to send a resume, but I’m not going to demand it. Applicants can expect a swift response from us.
Thanks,
Logan Burdine

Does the writing sample have to be baseball related, or are school essays acceptable?
