Travis is co-lead writer for Blake Street Bulletin. He has been writing about the Rockies for three years and has been a fan since 1995. Travis was the “Rockies Insider” for ESPN Radio in Northern Colorado during the 2010 season and is always looking for a reason to talk sports, baseball in particular.

Admittedly a crappy writer Travis does love to play golf. What do those two things have in common? Nothing. He just loves to play golf.

Travis grew up a Cubs fan. Born in Iowa the Cubs were the closest thing to a “professional” baseball franchise he could follow. He has never seen them in the World Series and his 90 something year old grandfather, a diehard Cubs fan, has never seen them win a World Series. After listening to Harry Caray for years Travis has issues pronouncing names, too.

    Hi Travis,

My name is Clair and we’re coming to town for the Rockie/Giants game this Wednesday. I googled Coors Field and saw your article from March, 2009 about the Coors Field Best Places. Would you still stand by your Best Hot Dog vendor at the corner of 19th & Blake? Also, what’s the scoop on parking nowadays?
We did score tickets in the front row of Section 325.
    Thanks, Clair

lol! Sweet! Those were fun to write.

I still say the parking garage on SW corner for 18th and Blake is the best place to park. It is usually $5 for the entire night if you get there after 5pm. You pay a machine before you leave and then just insert the ticket into the gate to get out. If you get there are primetime (I would say 5-7pm and leave after the game) there are guys at each gate to assist. It’s only 2 blocks from the stadium and for $5 you just can’t beat covered parking. If you can, park downstairs to get out of the garage faster after the game.

As for hot dog vendors, those have changed. I have seen vendors on almost every corner before games recently. There is one in front of the Chophouse on 19th and Wynkoop that I like.

Enjoy the game! If you are from San Fran I put up the view of the Rocky Mountains with the sun setting over ANY stadium in the league, and I have been to AT&T and sat in the upper deck down the 3rd baseline so I could look at the bay. Give me the beautiful colors over the mountains and with a little cloud cover….amazing.

      And go Rockies!
